ABRAHAM--on the way to SACRIFICE his ONLY SON
Gen 22:4On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.
5He said to his servants, "Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you."
6Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac,
and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together,
7Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, "Father?"
"Yes, my son?" Abraham replied. "The fire and wood are here," Isaac said,
"but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?" 8Abraham answered,
"God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son."
And the two of them went on together.
JOB-after he THE LOSE of everything and ALL HIS CHILDREN
Job 1:14 ..a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing
and the donkeys were grazing nearby, 15and the Sabeans attacked and
carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only
one who has escaped to tell you!"
16While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said,
"The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants,
17While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said,
"The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your
camels and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword…
18While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said,
"Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the
oldest brother´s house, 19when suddenly a mighty wind swept in
from the desert and struck the four corners of the house.
It collapsed on them and they are dead…
20At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head.
Then he fell to the ground in worship 21and said:
"Naked I came from my mother´s womb,
and naked I will depart.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
may the name of the LORD be praised."
22In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.
JOSHUA-ON THE WAY TO WAR
Josh 5:13Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man
standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand.
Joshua went up to him and asked, "Are you for us or for our enemies?"
14"Neither," he replied, "but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence,
and asked him,
"What message does my Lord have for his servant?"
15The commander of the LORD´s army replied,
"Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy."
And Joshua did so.
