Phil and I had been working all morning trying to find what new song God wanted for us to write. Nothing would come to us so we decided to go to lunch next door to my office.
As the waitress came to our table she put on a smile and greeted us. We order our ice tea and when she left Phil said, "There's a smile on her lips but her eyes are empty." I am not sure but one of us responded, "She needs the Lord."
We began to look around at the others there in the restaurant and saw empty faces and sad eyes. The laughter was even heavy.
We went back to the office and the words began to flow from our burden hearts because of what we had experienced. We wrote what you will now sing: PEOPLE NEED THE LORD.
Say not, There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest? behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
