STEP TWO IN THE FIVE STEPS TO PLANNING A WORSHIP SERVICE
Before selecting worship music remember...[/b]

PART ONE...THE FLOW...

Does it all fit together?
Does the theme appear in everything?
Can everyone involved in the worship be ready to share their part at the proper time?

PART TWO...VARIETY
1. THE MUSIC VARIETY
....fast-slow...loud-soft...strong...dynamic...gentle

2. THE WORDS
Objective which is singing of the Trintiy such as praise songs, and hymns about who they are and what they have done for us.
Subjective which is singing about ourselves and our response using personal verbs such as I, my, etc.

3. THE PURPOSE
Call to worship, praise, prayer, words from the Trinity and words to the Trinity.

4. CALL TO WORSHIP VARIETY
Bringing the hearts and minds from the week to the moment in the presence of God. The worshippers may sing or they may bow their heads and listen...solos, prayers, scriptures or testimonies. It could just be a voice with the person not present in the room.

5. PRAYER VARIETY,
All ages of saved persons leading in prayer, a prayer from the scripture, maybe a solo used while every head is bowed.

6. VISUAL PRESENTATIONS , dramas and videos.

7. INTRODUCTION OF THE HYMN...WHY IT WAS CHOSEN
A strong way to introduce a hymn is to tell what caused it to be
be written. GO TO THE HYMN STORY SECTION and find lots of ideas and use one in various ways so people don't just "sing the same ol' hymn" from the lips but their whole being and it has an impact on their life for they may have had the same thing happen to them.

PART THREE KEEP THINKING OF THE WORSHIPPERS WHO WILL BE PRESENT AS THE HOLY SPIRIT LEADS YOU TO SELECT THE MUSIC.
Children to Sr. Adults
Single to married to divorced
Vistor to Member
Happy children to unhappy children
Healthy to sick
Cold backsliden Christian to growing Christian
Indifferent to seeking and searching
Educated to uneducated
Employed to unemployed
Traditional worshiper to contemporary worshiper
